Founded as the Kansas City Philatelic Society
on August 22, 1893, the Midwest Philatelic Society is organized
to promote philately through education, the exchange of ideas,
establishment of high standards, and the encouragement of
philatelic interest within the community. Located in Kansas City,
our society was organized under the laws of the State of Missouri
as a Benevolent Corporation in 1938.
The stamp collecting interests of our members
are perhaps as varried as our number of members, including postal
and revenue issues of numerous countries, topical collections,
covers, postal history, and special studies of individual stamps
or sets of stamps. We welcome individuals of all levels of collecting
experience, from begining collectors, to those returning to
collecting, to experienced collectors, to nationally recognized
philatelic experts. Our meetings are always open to guests.
Any person of good character is eligible to
apply for membership.
Just complete an application form and submit it, along
with the appropriate fee, to the club’s Treasurer.
